The Line are excited to share a short film featuring Bangladeshi artist Rana Begum. In this film Rana speaks about her experience growing up in both Bangladesh and the UK, the thought processes and themes that she explores in her artwork and her journey to becoming the contemporary artist that she is today.

Rana’s large-scale colourful work Catching Colour can be seen at London City Island and is part of The Line.

Aamad is a collaborative dance work choreographed by English National Ballet Associate Artist, Kirsten Ho, and Akademi Associate Artist, Parbati Chaudhury.

This captivating ensemble work is inspired by artist Rana Begum’s sculptural installation, No. 1104 Catching Colour, curated by The Line at London City Island. Aamad is a creative response that brings together kathak, ballet and contemporary dance, and celebrates culture, community and contrast. With live music composed and played by tabla player Gurdain Singh Rayatt and flautist Praveen Prathapan; Aamad presents an offering of emotive moments of reflection, ritual and release.
